The MX‑5 NA Le Mans Edition is a rare 1991 special‑edition Mazda MX‑5 created to celebrate Mazda’s historic 1991 Le Mans 24‑Hour victory with the rotary‑powered Mazda 787B. Only 24 units were produced for the UK market.

Its defining feature is its painted (not wrapped) orange‑and‑green Renown livery, directly inspired by the winning 787B’s iconic checkerboard pattern. This visual theme made the edition instantly recognizable and one of the boldest MX‑5 liveries ever offered.

In addition to the livery, Mazda equipped the car with:

• A BBR low‑boost turbo kit, increasing output to 150 bhp (up from 114).
• OZ Racing wheels,
• Special body kit,
• Tokico suspension components,
• And a certificate signed by Le Mans winner Johnny Herbert.

Despite its exclusivity and significance, some original buyers even had their cars repainted due to the livery’s extreme look—adding to the model's legend. Today, only around 14 of the 24 are known to survive
